Choose lead capture to collect contact details before access. Email is required; add name, company or job title to suit the conversation you want to start.

02 / Set a password

Give access to the right people.

Choose password protection when you want people to enter a password before accessing your file. Share the password with the people you want to let in.

03 / Set the boundaries

Decide how long. Decide how many.

Set an expiry date and a download limit. Check the download count, reset it when needed, or pause the link. Use view-only mode for supported files, and add recipient watermarks on Business.

Can I choose between lead capture and a password?

Yes. Choose lead capture to ask for contact information, or password protection to require a password. Expiry and download limits can be used with either choice.

What happens when an expiry or download limit is reached?

The link stops allowing access when its expiry date or download limit is reached. Check the download count in Link settings, then adjust the limit or reactivate access when needed.

Can I change the rules after sharing?

Yes. You can update the expiry date and download limit, reset the download count, or pause the link. These controls affect future access; they cannot take back a copy someone has already downloaded.

What does view-only mode do?

View-only mode removes the download action and displays supported files in the document viewer. It does not prevent screenshots or someone recording what they can see. Watermarking viewed copies is available on Business.

Which controls can I try on Free?
